U.S. Representative Chuck Fleischmann, Chairman of Energy and Water Appropriations, expressed his approval following the Senate's confirmation of Chris Wright as the Secretary of the Department of Energy. The confirmation was marked by significant bipartisan support.
In a statement, Fleischmann highlighted his discussions with Wright during the confirmation process. "I applaud the Senate for its overwhelming and bipartisan confirmation of Chris Wright as our next Energy Secretary. Throughout the confirmation process, I had many meetings and conversations with Secretary Wright about how we can work together in my role as Chairman of Energy and Water Appropriations to unleash American-made energy, develop and deploy new nuclear technologies and energy nationwide, and continue modernizing our nuclear deterrent to counter aggression from our adversaries such as China and Russia," said Chairman Fleischmann.
Fleischmann also commended President Trump's decision in appointing Wright to lead the Department of Energy. He stated his eagerness to collaborate with Wright during President Trump's administration to enhance America's energy independence and national security. "President Trump made a strong selection in choosing Secretary Wright to lead the Department of Energy, and I look forward to closely collaborating with him throughout President Trump’s Administration to strengthen America’s energy independence and national security."
