A homeowner was awakened to a fire in their house and called 9-1-1, dispatching our volunteers to 6631 Hideaway Road at 3:33am.
When Engine 1 arrived on scene, the fire was nearly extinguished by the homeowner. Crews performed overhaul operations to assure the fire was completely out, and set up ventilation fans to clear the house of smoke.
One person was treated on scene for smoke inhalation by Hamilton County EMS.
The fire was mostly contained to the kitchen, with some extension into an adjoining room. No additional injuries occurred.
In addition to our crews, we appreciate Chattanooga Fire Department Squad 7 & Battalion 2 responding to the scene, providing additional manpower.
