Congressman Chuck Fleischmann, who serves as the Chairman of Energy and Water Appropriations, has expressed strong support for President Donald J. Trump's nominee for Secretary of the Department of Energy (DOE), Chris Wright. This endorsement follows Wright's confirmation hearing in the Senate.

Fleischmann stated, "President Donald Trump made an excellent decision to nominate Chris Wright to be our next DOE Secretary. There is no doubt in my mind that Chris will be a strong and effective DOE Secretary and we will work closely together in my role as Chairman of Energy and Water Appropriations."

He emphasized his confidence in Wright's leadership abilities and knowledge, noting their previous meetings and conversations. Fleischmann believes that Wright possesses the necessary qualities to lead American energy efforts effectively.

"I am confident that Secretary Wright will be a close ally and partner with me as Chairman of Energy and Water Appropriations," said Fleischmann. He outlined several key areas where he expects collaboration with Wright, including expanding civil nuclear energy, modernizing nuclear deterrents, revitalizing America's defense industrial base, restoring critical mineral supply chains, and promoting all forms of American-made energy.

Fleischmann also called on the Senate for a swift confirmation process: "I call on the Senate to quickly confirm Chris Wright as the next Secretary of the Department of Energy so we can get to work on Day One of President Trump’s new administration to deliver for the American People."
