U.S. Representative Chuck Fleischmann, Chairman of Energy and Water Appropriations, has voted in favor of the Fiscal Year 2025 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). The act is designed to enhance America's nuclear security through significant investments.

Fleischmann emphasized the importance of the NDAA, stating that it is crucial for military investment, troop support, and strengthening the nation's nuclear deterrent. He expressed concerns about global threats from countries like China and Russia, citing their increased military investments as a challenge to U.S. security.

"The Fiscal Year 2025 NDAA is an essential bill that makes critical investments in our military, troops, and, most importantly, our nation’s nuclear deterrent and infrastructure," said Fleischmann. He highlighted the need for America to maintain its military capabilities amid global tensions.

The NDAA aims to restore military strength by investing in advanced weaponry while removing certain policies imposed on service members. It also includes provisions for a pay raise for troops and cuts unnecessary spending.

"The FY25 NDAA restores military lethality by investing in state-of-the-art weaponry and military systems," Fleischmann stated. He stressed the importance of modernizing America's nuclear deterrent to prevent adversaries from gaining nuclear supremacy.

As part of his role as Chairman of Energy and Water Appropriations, Fleischmann outlined specific measures included in the NDAA: funding for nuclear triad modernization, plutonium pit production at key sites, construction of new ballistic missile submarines, and restrictions on foreign nationals entering nuclear facilities.

"We live in a dangerous world," he noted, urging swift Senate action on the bill to reinforce U.S. military leadership globally.
