Collegedale Police Department The Daily Highlight Report Wednesday, October 26, 2022

Officers were requested to stand by to keep the peace while an employee was terminated from their job in the West District. 

A Collegedale fugitive was booked on their warrant for failure to appear in court on a driving on a suspended license. 

Police and the fire department responded to a West District home in the Legacy Oaks neighborhood after an individual had called in stating that their neighbor was burning items in their backyard and an ember had landed in their garage. The fire was extinguished and the neighbor was  advised of the burn ban.

Police responded to a residence at the Hawthorne at the Crest apartments for an active disorder. One individual was arrested for domestic assault and transported to the county jail. 

A traffic stop in the 9500 block of Apison Pike led to the driver being charged with driving on a suspended license. 

A two car crash was reported in the 5600 block of Little Debbie Parkway after one vehicle rear ended another. There were no injuries reported. 

A business alarm was activated at an Old Lee Highway restaurant. It was found to be a malfunctioning alarm system. 

Officers responded to a noise complaint at the Hawthorne at the Summit apartment complex, however the officers did

not hear any noises coming from the given apartment and no one came to the door. 

While at the Walmart an officer was notified of a possible theft in progress. It was soon discovered to be a misunderstanding between an employee and a customer. There was no evidence that a theft had taken place.

A traffic stop in the 9200 block of Lee Highway for a registration violation resulted in the occupant’s arrest for being in possession of methamphetamines and cocaine. 

A Greenbriar Cove resident requested police to respond to a suspicious beholden parked near the neighborhood’s clubhouse. The vehicle was gone prior to police arrival. 

Collegedale police assisted Chattanooga police with a FedEx truck that had gotten itself stuck at the railroad tunnel in the 9700 block of Old Lee Highway. The delivery truck was able to be cleared from the roadway.
