SCAN members treated to Thanksgiving lunch
Sheriff’s Senior Citizens Awareness Network members visited with each other, shared lunch and played Bingo at their annual Thanksgiving lunch Wednesday at Lane Agri-Center.
Community Services Sgt. Gary Herron thanked the sponsors, including Atmos Energy, Property Management Association of Rutherford County, Alley on Main who donated prepared turkeys, Slim Chickens, Sam’s and Paul Schoenfeld of the Sheriff's Citizens Academy Alumni Association.
Thanks to the volunteers who helped, including the Property Management Association members, Motlow State students and the Sheriff's Cadets.
Sheriff Mike Fitzhugh thanks the sponsors who made the meal possible for the SCAN members and their guests.
Leftover meals were sent home with the SCAN members, many who do not have families to treat them to Thanksgiving dinners.
