The University of Tennessee-Chattanooga Avery Catlett Named Academic All-District

Chattanooga Mocs senior Avery Catlett was named to the College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District team, the organization announced.

Catlett earned a 4.0 GPA in both the spring and fall semesters last year and carries an overall 3.85 grade point average in Psychology. She has maintained her position on Chattanooga's Dean's List and Athletics Director's Honor Roll as well as the Southern Conference Honor Roll. She is a recipient of the SoCon Commissioner's Medal for Academics.

This fall, the Mocs claimed its first-ever Southern Conference regular season championship. The Mocs went 8-5-5 overall and 5-1-3 in league play, earning the top seed in the SoCon postseason tournament. Chattanooga avenged its loss to Wofford with a quarterfinal win over the Terriers to advance to the semifinal round. The Mocs fell to UNCG in overtime.

Catlett anchored a defense that posted six shutouts and a 1.20 goals against average, fifth best in program history. She was named All-Southern Conference Second Team as a defender.

In the spring of 2021, Catlett was a part of the Mocs defense that allowed a school-record low five goals and a 0.48 goals against average.

Catlett plans to graduate in the spring.
