Collegedale Police Department The Daily Highlight Report Wednesday, November 2, 2022

A firearm seized during a traffic arrest earlier in the year was found to have been in the possession of an individual who had previously been convicted of domestic assault in another jurisdiction, making it unlawful for them to be in possession of the weapon at the time of their arrest by Collegedale officers. A warrant was issued and the individual was arrested at court and booked on the charge. 

A traffic stop in the 10600 block of Apison Pike for an expired tag resulted in the driver being charged with driving on a suspended license. 

A two vehicle crash was reported at the intersection of Ooltewah Ringgold Road and Leyland Drive. There were no injuries. 

A South District resident reported that they had been scammed through their email. 

An individual was arrested at City Hall for possession of illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia after it was discovered that they had brought methamphetamines and a meth pipe into court. 

A Collegedale fugitive was arrested in court on a bond revocation warrant from an original theft charge. 

Officers were requested to check the area around the 9400 block of David Smith Lane for an improperly parked vehicle causing a hazard. The vehicle in question was located but was not a hazard, however the owner decided to move it regardless. 

Police were called to a restaurant in the Apison Crossing plaza for lost property after a firearm had been found in a bathroom. Prior to the officers arrival the owner retrieved the firearm. 

A wallet was reported lost at a West District nursing home. 

A Collegedale fugitive was arrested in court on a bond revocation warrant from an original DUI charge. 

Police were called to the Hawthorne at the Summit apartment complex for a domestic disorder that turned out to be an unruly juvenile. The parents were directed to resources and options to assist.  

Chattanooga police made contact with a Collegedale fugitive. The individual was transported to the jail and booked on a bond revocation warrant from an original felony theft charge. 

Officers returned to the Hawthorne at the Summit apartment complex for the unruly juvenile and spoke with the family members again. 

A traffic stop in the 8100 block of Apison Pike led to the driver being charged with possession of illegal narcotics. 

Police responded to a West District gas station after an individual reported that a person they had given a ride to had taken their wallet. It was soon found to be a misunderstanding after the reporting individual was able to find their wallet inside their car. 

While conducting routine business checks during the night an officer located a parked vehicle at a closed West District gas station with its lights off and not in a parking space or gas pump. An individual was found sleeping in the back seat. They were checked and found to be ok, just traveling through, and had stopped to take a quick nap. The driver relocated to a safer area. 

A traffic stop just inside Bradley County on Lee Highway for speeding through the Collegedale section of the roadway resulted in the driver’s arrest for DUI. The driver was also charged with driving on a suspended license and violation of implied consent.
