Collegedale Police Department The Weekend Highlights Friday, September 16, 2022

Officers responded to a single vehicle crash in the 5600 block of Edgmon Road, after a vehicle reportedly crashed through a pasture fence. The driver was arrested for DUI. 

Police received third hand information from Bradley County dispatchers that an individual in the West District was having a mental health crisis. Contact was made with the individual and help offered. 

A report was received that two empty boxes once containing a shotgun and a rifle were found near a Southern Adventist University dumpster.

A citizen turned in a pair of wireless headphones at city hall. 

A minor vehicle crash in the Walmart parking lot was reported. 

Police responded to the Integra Hills apartment complex after a tenant’s former boyfriend followed them into their home while they were unloading groceries and attacked them. The attacker reportedly punched the victim, destroyed their property and stole the victim’s phone to prevent them from calling 9-1-1 before fleeing the scene. Several warrants relating to the aggravated domestic assault have been issued for the attacker’s arrest. 

Walmart reported a theft of an iPhone. 

A traffic stop in the 5200 block of Little Debbie Parkway resulted in the driver’s arrest for 2nd offense DUI.

Police received a delayed report of an individual approaching a student who was jogging at the track. The individual was reported to have been trying to deliver food to someone but couldn’t find the customer and allegedly kept bothering the student. 

Officers were called to a West District business after a customer saw someone inside after closing time. Everything checked out ok. It was a store employee. 

A crash was reported in the 4000 block of Barnsley Loop. There were no injuries. 

An officer checked the well-being of an elderly South District resident. Everything checked out ok. 

An officer checked on a disabled vehicle in the 9700 block of Leyland Drive. The vehicle was pushed to a nearby parking lot and the roadway was cleared. 

A traffic stop in the 9200 block of Apison Pike for a light law violation led to the driver’s arrest for DUI. The passenger was also arrested for possession of illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia, as well as tampering with evidence. 

A traffic stop in the 8100 block of Apison Pike resulted in the driver’s arrest after being identified as the Collegedale fugitive who had attacked their former girlfriend in her home the previous night. In addition to the warrants stemming from the domestic assault, the fugitive was also charged with driving on a suspended license and for a warrant out of East Ridge. 

While conducting routine neighborhood patrols a vehicle door was found open in a South District neighborhood. No signs of a break in were found and the door was secured.

An auto burglary was reported at a West District hotel after the vehicle owner had left their vehicle doors unlocked. A felony amount of property was reportedly stolen. 

A landscaping truck dropped several large branches in the 8700 block of Apison Pike and an officer removed the branches from the roadway.

A minor parking lot crash was reported in the 9400 block of Apison Pike. 

Officers responded to a West District apartment complex for an intoxicated person at the pool. The individual was safely escorted to their apartment without incident. 

Two traffic stops in the 10100 block of Lee Highway led to both drivers’ arrest for driving on a revoked license. 

Police responded to a West District business after receiving reports that someone was being assaulted in a car parked behind the business. Officers arrived on scene and checked the area but no one was found.
