The University of Tennessee-Chattanooga Kicking off Homecoming Week with Blue and Gold Spirit

Homecoming Week at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga got off to a rousing start Monday, Sept. 12, with the Kickoff Pep Rally on Chamberlain Field, featuring the Marching Mocs, Cheerleaders, Sugar Mocs, Ladies of GOLD and Scrappy.

Dignitaries on the Chamberlain Pavilion stage included Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly, Hamilton County Mayor Weston Wamp, Chancellor Steve Angle, Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Mark Wharton, Mocs Football Coach Rusty Wright, Vice Chancellor of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs Yancy Freeman and a surprise guest—former Moc and NFL Hall of Fame wide receiver Terrell Owens.

Carmin Chambers, the Homecoming Student Steering Committee promotions coordinator, introduced the Homecoming Court. The UTC student body will have the opportunity to vote for their top candidates starting today via MocSync; voting will close at 9 a.m. on Friday (September 16).

UTC Alumni Board President Jay Dale served as the program emcee.

A raucous Chamberlain Field crowd included football co-captains Ty Boeck, McClendon Curtis and Devonnsha Maxwell.
