Collegedale Police Department The Daily Highlight Report Monday, August 1, 2022

The Department of Children Services made a report of an alleged sex crime that had been reported to them from the West District. 

Police were notified of a power outage in the Edgmon Road area. 

An East District resident made a report documenting their landlord’s failure to fix a problem in their home. 

A crash report was filed after a vehicle struck two other parked cars in a West District parking lot. 

Two Collegedale fugitives were booked on their warrants. 

Officers got out with an individual “huffing” keyboard duster spray in the Walmart parking lot. 

A hit and run crash report was filed in the 9500 block of Apison Pike after one vehicle rear ended another and fled the scene. 

A resident in the Barrington Country Estates neighborhood reported that a black bear had destroyed their back yard bird feeder. The reporting individual had a picture of the bear, but it had fled into the woods prior to the officer’s arrival.

EMS transported a patient suffering chest pains from a West District doctor’s office to the hospital. 

A West District resident reported that their fence had been damaged.

A parent in the West District reported that their child’s other parent had taken their child while they were in a class. Officers determined that the parents were still married with no parenting plan in place. They advised the reporting parent of the proper steps they would need to make as no laws had yet been broken. 

EMS transported a West District resident to the hospital. 

Police made contact with a vehicle parked in a fire lane at the Collegedale Walmart and found that one of the three occupants had previously been trespassed from all Walmart stores. That occupant was charged with criminal trespass. The other two occupants were found to be in felony possession of methamphetamines and other narcotics. The driver was charged further with driving on a suspended license and theft from Walmart. 

Collegedale police were requested to assist the sheriff’s office with an aggravated domestic assault in progress in the 9600 block of Ocoee Street, just outside the city’s West District. Officers were advised that the aggressor was armed with a handgun and could be heard making verbal threats to kill their spouse and themself. Police and deputies were able to secure the aggressor’s peaceful surrender and they were safely taken into custody. 

EMS transported an elderly West District patient having chest pains to the hospital.
