Collegedale Police Department The Weekend Highlights Friday, July 15th, 2022

A concerned citizen  reported that railroad spikes and wood were in the roadway, in the 5400 block of Little Debbie Parkway. Officers responded and removed about two dozen rail spikes and some wood from the roadway that had fallen from the train trestle.

Officers worked a minor fender bender in the Arby’s parking lot. 

Another minor fender bender was reported on the campus of Southern Adventist University. 

A vehicle was reported stolen from the lot of Stanley Security Solutions, in the city’s West District 

Two Collegedale fugitives were booked on their warrants. 

Police received a call about a loose nonaggressive dog in the Grindstone Estates community. Upon the officer’s arrival it was determined that the reporting individual’s neighbor had already scheduled for the humane society to pick up the dog the following morning.

A traffic stop in the 5500 block of Little Debbie Parkway for a vehicle displaying a license plate from another vehicle led to one occupant’s arrest for warrants out of Hamilton and Bradley counties. Another occupant was also taken into custody for Meigs County warrants. 

Residents of a South District neighborhood reported that a white Jeep was driving too fast and too loud through their neighborhood. 

A traffic stop in the 10100 block of Lee Highway led to the driver’s arrest for DUI. 

Saturday, July 16th, 2022

A home owner in a developing  West District neighborhood called to report that construction workers had knocked over the street lamp on their property. Construction workers were repairing the lamp when the officer arrived.

A property manager for an East District trailer park community called in about an individual screaming from their porch at random hours. 

A request for police to check the well being of an individual behind the wheel of a car in the Walmart parking lot resulted in the driver’s arrest for DUI. 

A minor fender bender in a West District gas station parking lot was reported. 

Police checked the well being of an individual who resided at a West District apartment complex. Everything checked out ok. 

Reports of shoplifters at the Collegedale Walmart resulted in the arrests of three individuals. All three were charged with theft, conspiracy, and possession of illegal narcotics.

Police were called to the dog park of a West District apartment complex after someone had found what they thought to be a suspicious package. Everything checked out ok. 

Police responded to a mental health call in the South District. 

A Collegedale fugitive was booked on their warrants. 

Sunday, July 17th, 2022

Police took a harassment report between two neighbors in the East District. 

An individual in the South District reported damage to the hood of their vehicle. 

Officers checked the well-being of a sick child at the request of their parent. 

A West District store clerk call police to check on an individual who had been yelling their car. Officers made contact with the individual, who advised that there were just upset with their child’s significant other. 

Police were called about a blind nursing home resident who could not be found. Officers located the individual a few blocks away and returned them to the nursing home. 

Police responded to a West District home regarding a dispute between two family members. Both individuals agreed to separate for the night. 

A traffic stop in the 9400 block of Lee Highway for an expired license plate led to the driver’s arrest for felony possession of fentanyl, criminal impersonation, and 3 Collegedale warrants.
