Collegedale Police Department The Weekends Highlights Friday, June 17th, 2022

A West District resident reported that they had been scammed by a handyman they had hired through the internet. 

A traffic stop in the 9300 block of Apison Pike resulted in the driver being charged with driving on a suspended license. 

Officers answered a suspicious person call at the Springhill Suites, in the West District, and made contact with an individual who had warrants out of Floyd County, Georgia for harassment and terroristic threats. The individual was taken into custody and transported to the jail to await extradition. 

Police responded to a noise complaint at The Village at Apison Pike apartments, regarding loud music at the pool. The people at the pool agreed to turn their music down. 

A traffic stop in the 5900 block of Elementary Way led to a passenger’s arrest for an East Ridge warrant. They were transported to the jail. 

A traffic stop for a light law violation in the 4900 block of University Drive led to the driver’s arrest for DUI. A passenger was also arrested for a Hamilton County warrant. They were transported to the jail. 

A traffic stop in the 10600 block of Lee Highway led to the driver’s arrest for driving on a revoked license. Two passengers were also arrested after they were found to have felony warrants out of Bradley County. 

Police were called to the The Village at Apison Pike for another noise complaint. The caller complained of a neighbor playing loud music and stomping around. Officers didn’t hear anything when they arrived and the caller didn’t want to speak with police. 

A traffic stop in the 5600 block of Little Debbie Parkway led to the driver being charged with driving on a revoked license and being in possess of illegal narcotics. 

Saturday, June 18th, 2022

Collegedale police were requested to assist, along with other area agencies, with a vehicle crash involving injuries on I-75 at the 10 mile marker.  

Officers stood by to keep the peace with a child custody exchange at city hall. 

Officers stood by and kept the peace while Walmart management issued criminal trespass warnings to individuals on their property. 

A traffic stop in the 9000 block of Old Lee Highway led to the driver being charged with driving on a suspended license. 

A traffic stop in the 9200 block of Lee Highway led to the driver being charged with driving on a revoked license. 

Officers came upon an open door at a local bank. The building was checked and secured. 

Police responded to a CPR in progress after an individual found another lying on the floor and unresponsive in an East District home. EMS transported them to the hospital. 

A concerned citizen reported that a large tree limb had fallen and had blocked the roadway in the 4000 block of McDonald Road. The officer observed that the tree was laying on some phone lines and was able to move the tree. 

Two individuals were reported to have stolen $357 worth of tools and nerf guns from the CollegedaleWalmart. One of the individuals was identified. Charges are pending. 

Sunday, June 19th, 2022

Police responded to reports of a disorder at The Hawthorne at the Summit apartment complex. 

Collegedale police assisted the sheriff’s office with traffic control while they assisted an RV back up Lee Highway after they were unable to go through the railroad tunnel in the 7800 block. 

A Collegedale fugitive was booked on their warrants. 

Officers were able to assist a citizen who had dropped their phone between two boards on the boardwalk at the Imagination Station playground. 

Collegedale police assisted the sheriff’s office with a suspicious person call just outside the city’s East District. 

Officers worked a single vehicle crash in the 9500 block of Apison Pike after a deer ran out in front of a car. 

Police responded twice to noise complaints at The Hawthorne at the Summit apartment complex’s ping pong tables. 

A South District resident made a harassment report involving an individual who would not stop messaging them.
