Collegedale Police Department Weekend Highlights Friday, June 3rd, 2022

Two Collegedale fugitives were booked on their warrants.

A crash report was taken in the 4900 block of Saginaw Road.

A property damage report was filed from the campus of Southern Adventist University, involving a vehicle at the Hulsey Wellness Center.

Officers responded to a verbal disorder involving a customer at the Walmart. The customer was banned from the property.

A gun was found in a Walmart bathroom and turned over to police.

Officers checked the well-being of a West District resident at the request of a family member.

A traffic stop in the 10100 block of Lee Highway led to the driver being charged with driving on a revoked license.

Another traffic stop in the same location resulted in another driver being charged with driving on a suspended license.

Police worked a one vehicle crash in the 9800 block of Apison Pike after the vehicle struck the guardrail, flipped, and landed on top of a concrete barrier on the other side of the road. The driver was arrested for DUI and transported to the jail.

While conducting a neighborhood check in the West District an open garage door was located with an unsecured vehicle inside. The officer tried to make contact with the owner but there was no answer at the house.

Saturday, June 4th, 2022

Police were called to a residence in Grindstone Estates for a noise complaint involving a neighbor’s barking dog. No dog was heard while officers were on the scene. The complainant was advised to contact Grindstone management or the city’s Codes Enforcement department.

Walmart reported a theft of fishing reels. Suspects were identified and warrants are pending.

Officers worked a crash involving injuries in the 9300 block of Apison Pike.

A Collegedale fugitive was booked on their warrants.

An individual reported that their dog had been bitten by another loose dog on Southern Adventist University‘s Biology Trails. The owner of the other dog was unable to be contacted. The reporting person was advised of their options and they refused a report to be filed.

A citizen at a West District gas station having car problems was provided with a battery boost to start their car. The citizen and their family were able to get back on the road.

A traffic stop in the 9500 block of Lee Highway led to the occupant being charged with possession of illegal narcotics.

A traffic stop in the 9509 block of Lee Highway led to the arrest of another occupant for violation of an order of protection.

Collegedale police were requested to assist Chattanooga police with a domestic assault just outside the city’s West District. Collegedale police assisted until Chattanooga units could arrive.

Collegedale police responded to a call for all available units to assist Chattanooga police as they responded to reports of at least eleven people shot on McCallie Avenue and a large mob of people attempting to gain entry into Erlanger ER where patients were being transported. Collegedale police responded and assisted with locking down all Erlanger entry points.

Sunday, June 5th, 2022

Collegedale police chaplain assisted with a death notification in the East District.

Officers responded to the area of Main Street and Lee Highway regarding a disorder between drivers. No criminal activity was identified.

Officers responded to a disorder at the Integra Hills apartment complex between a resident and a moving company. Police were able to identify that the problem was a language barrier and were able to assist in fixing the problem.

An individual that had left their backpack unattended at a trailhead for the Southern Adventist University’s Biology Trails the day before, reported that their wallet had been stolen from the backpack and their bank cards had been used at the Collegedale Walmart.

Police were called to a West District business because the complainant was concerned about a dog that had been left in a parked car. The parked car had left prior to the officer’s arrival.

Officers were alerted to a stolen vehicle in the Little Debbie Parkway area. The vehicle was located at the Collegedale Walmart. The driver was also located and arrested for theft of the motor vehicle, shoplifting from Walmart, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The passenger of the stolen car was also charged with shoplifting from the store.
