Chattanooga’s beach volleyball players, Lecik and Faychak, were named the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week on Apr. 1, marking their second time receiving this honor during the season.

The recognition highlights their strong performance as UTC’s all-time winningest duo. The award is given to pairs who demonstrate outstanding play during conference matches.

During the first OVC Weekend of the year on their home sand, Lecik and Faychak achieved a perfect 4-0 record in the No. 1 position against Tennessee Tech, Lindenwood, Eastern Illinois, and Morehead State. They did not drop a set in any match. As a team, Chattanooga won all four matches and outscored opponents by a combined score of 19-1. The Sandy Mocs currently hold a record of 10-3 overall and are undefeated at 5-0 in OVC play, placing them alone at the top of league standings.

Looking ahead, Lecik and Faychak will compete with their teammates at the Eastern Kentucky Sand Fest this weekend. The team is scheduled for three matches against Ottawa (Kan.), Liberty, and Eastern Kentucky.
