Kennesaw State defeated the Chattanooga Mocs softball team 3-1 on Wednesday night at Bailey Park. Chattanooga took an early lead in the second inning, scoring after a single through the left side and advancing on a ground out and fielder’s choice before being driven home by a hit up the middle.
Kennesaw State responded by scoring one run in each of the last three innings, including a solo home run to start the sixth inning.
One Chattanooga player recorded two hits in three at-bats, including a double. Cowart and Bunt also contributed with one hit each. The starting pitcher for Chattanooga threw five innings, striking out seven, walking two, and allowing three runs.
Chattanooga will travel to Hattiesburg, Mississippi for the Hub City Classic hosted by Southern Miss. Their first game is scheduled for Friday at 3:00 p.m. Eastern time against Lamar. Updates can be found online at GoMocs.com.
