Chattanooga secured a narrow 56-54 victory over UNC Greensboro at McKenzie Arena on February 21, 2026. The win improves Chattanooga’s record to 18-7 overall and 10-2 in the Southern Conference, while UNC Greensboro falls to 13-15 overall and 3-10 in conference play.

The Mocs have now completed their first season sweep of the Spartans since the 2017-18 season and ended a two-game home losing streak against UNC Greensboro. Chattanooga leads the all-time series with a record of 53-17 and is now 24-6 at home against UNCG.

During the game, Chattanooga overcame a deficit of as many as 12 points late in the second quarter. This marks their fifth comeback win this season when trailing by double digits, and their second such comeback in conference play. Despite being down by eight points entering the fourth quarter, Chattanooga outscored UNCG 21-11 in the final period. The team is now 5-6 this year when trailing with ten minutes remaining.

Chattanooga finished its regular season home schedule with an 11-3 record, improving from last year’s mark of 10-5 under Coach Schirmer. In Southern Conference home games, they posted a record of 6-1, also an improvement from last season’s performance.

UNCG led for more than thirty-six minutes of game time, while Chattanooga held the lead for just over two minutes but managed to secure the win. The Mocs’ first-half total of twenty-one points was their lowest this season.

Chattanooga won the rebounding battle by a margin of ten (37-27) and remains undefeated (17-2) this year when outrebounding opponents. They shot just twenty percent from three-point range (3-for-15), matching their lowest percentage in conference play this season. At the free throw line, UTC converted fifteen out of twenty attempts for seventy-five percent accuracy.

From the field, Chattanooga shot thirty-five percent (19-for-54), improving to an 8-5 record when shooting below forty percent this year. Defensively, they held UNCG to thirty-two percent shooting (17-for-52), maintaining a perfect record (15-0) when holding opponents under forty percent shooting.

The starting lineup featured Elisaldez, McPherson, Bedke, Corbitt, and Ford together for only the second time since November; UTC is now 3-4 with that lineup. With this victory, Chattanooga surpasses last year’s conference win total and records its twenty-second season with at least ten league wins.

Individually, one player led UTC with nineteen points on forty-three percent shooting and contributed five rebounds and five assists. Ten of her points came in the fourth quarter. She has scored nineteen or more points in four consecutive games and has averaged twenty-two-and-a-half points per game during that stretch.

Another player reached double figures with ten points and eight rebounds while making sixty-three percent of her shots from the field. She scored four crucial points late in the game and has collected at least eight rebounds in three straight contests.

A third player contributed six points on two clutch three-pointers during the fourth quarter—her only shot attempts—helping UTC regain momentum late in the game.

One senior scored eight points on perfect free throw shooting during her Senior Day appearance—the most she has scored since returning from injury—and played her highest number of minutes since then as well.

Another teammate added eight points despite foul trouble limiting her playing time; she fouled out late in the fourth quarter but matched her second-highest scoring output this season.
