The Chattanooga Mocs women’s beach volleyball team secured their third consecutive Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) regular season championship with two 5-0 victories on Saturday, April 18. The team clinched the title by sweeping both Tennessee Tech and Morehead State.

This achievement highlights the team’s ongoing success in conference play and sets the stage for their postseason ambitions. The Sandy Mocs have now won 29 straight OVC regular season matches and are preparing to defend their championship at the upcoming OVC tournament.

Head Coach Darin Van Horn said, “The team finished the weekend with strong performances across all pairs. The regular season title was well deserved. This team cares about performing for each other, the program and the university. I’m very proud of the way they handle themselves. We will celebrate the regular season, but we are also excited to start preparing for the tournament.”

Chattanooga improved its record to 21-4 overall and a perfect 10-0 in OVC play this season. In matches against Tennessee Tech, Chattanooga recorded several straight-set wins, including dominant performances by multiple pairs. Against Morehead State, every pair contributed to another sweep as Chattanooga continued its winning streak.

The Mocs have won seven consecutive matches and have been victorious in 21 of their last 22 contests. Over the past two seasons, they hold a record of 47-10 (.825), including an impressive mark of 45-3 (.938) in OVC matches during this campaign.

Looking ahead, Chattanooga will compete as two-time defending champions at the OVC Championships in Martin, Tennessee from April 23 to April 25.
