Chattanooga Beach Volleyball will participate in the Stache Bash tournament at Austin Peay, with matches scheduled for Friday and Saturday. The Sandy Mocs are set to play two games each day, marking their second weekend tournament of the season after competing in the Wheeler Beach Bash at South Carolina on February 27-28.

The event is significant as it provides Chattanooga an opportunity to build on its early season performance and face a mix of Division I and II opponents. The team will play against Tusculum and Wingate on Friday, followed by rematches with Tusculum and host Austin Peay on Saturday. There will be no live stats available for these matches, but results will be posted to the Beach Volleyball Schedule as they become available throughout the weekend.

Tusculum enters the tournament with a 6-3 record, having recently gone 3-1 at the SAC Conference weekend. The Pioneers are led by Hannah Marsh and Sofia Vega Barrantes, who went undefeated last weekend. Chattanooga holds a perfect 4-0 all-time record against Tusculum, including two shutout wins last year.

Wingate arrives with a balanced 3-3 record after winning three consecutive matches, including a sweep over Morehead State. This meeting marks the first-ever contest between Chattanooga and Wingate, whose beach volleyball program is in its second year.

Austin Peay, hosting the tournament as the only Division I school among Chattanooga’s opponents this weekend, has a 4-7 record so far this season. The Govs recently competed in the Georgia State Day of Duals and have strong performances from their No. 2 pair Bailey Hope and Ashley Boswell. Chattanooga leads their all-time series against Austin Peay 9-5 and has won six straight matchups.

Chattanooga currently holds a 1-3 record for the season, with close losses to Coastal Carolina and Texas A&M – Corpus Christi. Their only win came in a shutout against Austin Peay earlier this year. The team’s top duo recently set a school record for most wins by a pair with 41 victories together.
