The Chattanooga Beach Volleyball team broke its program record for consecutive wins after defeating Liberty and Eastern Kentucky on April 4. The team extended its winning streak to 13 matches, surpassing the previous record of 11 straight victories.

This achievement is significant for the Chattanooga program as it highlights a period of strong performance and consistency. The team also recorded its eleventh sweep of the season, demonstrating dominance in recent matches.

Against Liberty, Chattanooga won all five matches, with four decided in straight sets. In their afternoon contest against Eastern Kentucky, three of the five matches went to three sets, but Chattanooga prevailed in each one. With these results, the team’s overall season record improved to 13-3 and an undefeated mark of 5-0 in Ohio Valley Conference play.

In their match versus Liberty, Chattanooga’s players secured victories across all courts. Notably, a comeback win was recorded on Court 2 after dropping the first set but recovering to win in three. The order of finish saw quick wins at several positions before concluding with a victory on Court 1.

Later that day against Eastern Kentucky, Lawrence and Vale opened with a comeback win on Court 2. Clark and McKenny also rallied from behind to secure another three-set victory at No. 4 position. Goryl and McCabe clinched another point for UTC at No. 5 slot before Faychak and Lecik finished strong on Court 1.

With these results, Chattanooga now holds a positive all-time record against both Liberty (2-0) and Eastern Kentucky (4-2), ending a two-match losing streak against the Colonels.

Looking ahead, Chattanooga will host the Scenic City Showdown next weekend where it is scheduled to play five matches over two days.
