The Chattanooga Beach Volleyball team, currently on a 10-match winning streak, will compete at the Eastern Kentucky Sand Fest in Richmond, Kentucky this weekend. The team is scheduled to play Ottawa (Kan.) on Friday and Liberty and Eastern Kentucky on Saturday.

This event is significant for Chattanooga as the team is one win away from tying its all-time record of 11 consecutive victories. If they defeat both Ottawa and Liberty, they will set a new school record with 12 straight wins. Additionally, Chattanooga’s head coach is approaching his 100th career win, holding a current record of 99-62 over six years as the program’s only head coach.

The Sandy Mocs have a season record of 10-3 overall and are undefeated in Ohio Valley Conference play at 5-0. In their last competition during the OVC Weekend at UTC, they outscored opponents by a combined score of 19-1 across four matches. Eight out of ten wins this year have been sweeps with scores of 5-0. All starting pairs have reached double-digit wins so far this season.

Their first opponent, Ottawa (Kan.), holds an 0-16 record and will face Chattanooga for the first time ever. Liberty’s club team has competed against several NCAA Division II and III schools this year; Chattanooga previously defeated them in their only meeting last season. Host school Eastern Kentucky stands at 12-7 after recent successes in Alabama and has won its last two meetings against Chattanooga.

Live scoring links are available through the team’s online schedule for those following along remotely.
