The Chattanooga Beach Volleyball team was recognized on May 4 by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, with all five of its starting pairs earning Top Flight awards. This marks the first time in program history that every starting pair has received this distinction.

The AVCA Top Flight program honors beach volleyball pairs who compete in at least 15 matches together at a specific flight and win at least 75 percent of their matches. Chattanooga, along with Cal Poly, were the only two NCAA Division I schools to have five pairs achieve this honor during the season.

Each of Chattanooga’s duos competed throughout the year at their respective flights and posted strong records. The No. 1 pair finished with a record of 20-5 and earned recognition as Ohio Valley Conference Pair of the Year, First Team All-OVC honors, and OVC Player of the Year for Faychak. The No. 2 pair compiled a record of 20-6 and was named to both First Team All-OVC and the OVC All-Tournament Team.

On Court 3, Chattanooga’s duo ended their season with a record of 21-7, earning them OVC Tournament Most Valuable Pair after clinching victory in the championship match against Lindenwood as well as All-Conference distinction. The No. 4 pair tied a school record for most wins in a season by going 25-4 and earned Second Team All-OVC honors for their performance.

Rounding out UTC’s lineup were its No. 5 players, who ranked second on the team with twenty-two wins against just four losses; they also secured Second Team All-OVC recognition after an impressive regular season.

Chattanooga concluded its campaign with an overall record of 24-5 while winning both the Ohio Valley Conference Regular Season Championship and Tournament Championship for a third consecutive year. The team also participated in the National Collegiate Beach Volleyball Championship for its third straight appearance but fell to top-seeded Stanford in the first round.
